How can I apply for membership?

You must first create a My ERA profile. Then, once you log in to My ERA, you may apply for the ERA membership.

How long does my membership last?

Active Members are those current Members who have settled their yearly membership fees. Membership follows the calendar year, January – December, and must be renewed yearly (preferably by November).

How can I check whether or not I am an Active Member?

You should log in to My ERA and check the membership section of your account. Also, if you cannot view your benefits, you are not an Active Member.

How can I settle my membership fee?

Log in to My ERA, click on the membership section, and then on renew your ERA membership.

Can I renew my membership fee for more than 1 year?

Yes, please contact membership@era-online.org

I wish to settle my past unpaid membership fees

I just paid my membership fee by credit card but I cannot register to the ERA congress as a Member

Please try again as we might still be processing your payment, or your email address is not the same as the one in our membership database.

Please log in to My ERA to verify your email address or contact  membership@era-online.org

Can I get a payment receipt?

Yes, log in to My ERA and check the documents section.

Can I get a certificate of membership?

Yes, log in to My ERA, click on the membership section, and then download your certificate of membership.

I need to update my address

Log in to My ERA, and click on your membership profile.

I need to update my email in my profile

Log in to My ERA, click on your membership profile, and then on ‘change e-mail’.

I cannot log in to My ERA

If you cannot log in with your e-mail and password, you will most probably have to reset your password or your email address is not the one you used when creating your membership account.

Should you still have problems even after resetting your password or if you are unable to update your e-mail, please contact membership@era-online.org

I need to change my password

Log in to My ERA, click on your membership profile and then on ‘change password’.

I forgot my password

Log in to My ERA, click on forgot password and follow the different steps to receive further instructions.

How can I read NDT online?

Log in to My ERA and click on NDT.

I have not received the hardcopy of the NDT

Please allow at least 10 working days for delivery within Europe and USA, and 21 working days for the rest of the world. If you did not receive the journal after this period, please contact ndt@era-online.org.

In the meantime, since your subscription also includes a full subscription to NDT online, if you wish to access full-text articles of NDT, you can log in to the journal via My ERA.

I wish to join the Young Nephrologists’ Platform (YNP)

All Junior Members and students up to 40 years of age are automatically included in YNP at no extra cost.

I am interested in becoming a member but I do not wish to subscribe to NDT

You can take advantage of the reduced membership fee and receive all the benefits without the journal.

Does ERA offer any special discounted membership fees for Members living and working in certain countries?

Yes, please check the full list of eligible countries that take advantage of the special discounted fees.

I am an ERA Member and I am retiring: are there any benefits for me?

Yes, both Associate and Full Active who are current Members and have been Members for more than 15 consecutive and uninterrupted years, who have reached the age of 60 and who have retired from practice, can become Senior Members.  The senior membership status is NOT given automatically but must be requested to membership@era-online.org

Does ERA offer discounts or special fees for medical trainees or fellows?

Yes, Members between 29 and 40 years of age can apply for junior membership at a very low fee.

I am a medical student: can I enjoy certain membership benefits?

Students who are up to 28 years of age can apply for student membership, free of charge.

What is the geographical difference between Full and Associate membership?

Full membership is open to scientific workers qualified in areas relevant to the Objects and living and working (and thus having their main residency) in Europe and adjacent countries (defined as the countries bordering Europe, the Ural Mountains being the natural border between Europe and Asia and countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea).

Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo*, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

* This designation is without prejudice to positions on status and is in line with UNSCR 1244/99 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.

Associate membership is open to scientific workers qualified in areas relevant to the Objects who are not eligible for full membership.
