Beatriz’s story

The ERA Fellowship Program is an excellent opportunity for all young European nephrologists who are interested in enhancing their knowledge and advancing their careers. I had the chance to join this program, and I am very grateful for all the enriching experiences that brought me. From my perspective, the fellowship program helps to expand horizons both professionally and personally.

Yes, of course! The Fellowship should be mentioned, because, in my opinion, it enhances your CV by adding skills that go far beyond the academic ones. For example, the fellowship contributes to improve your intercultural communication, independence, and adaptability to new environments. All of these competencies distinguish your CV and makes it more appealing.

From an academic standpoint, the fellowship has allowed me to learn more about ANCA-vasculitis and develop my research skills. The opportunity to collaborate within a working group (EUVAS) has helped me to learn a different research methodology. Additionally, I have had the chance to meet and be inspired by experts in this field whom I greatly admired. Their knowledge has served as a motivation for me to continue working and striving to achieve my goals. Thanks to my participation in this Fellowship, I have been able to publish articles and present several communication at international congresses.

Living in a new country, such as Sweden, has provided me with a valuable cultural enrichment. I truly felt immersed in a new culture, but it was initially, challenging, because even basic aspects like the weather or daily schedules differed greatly from my home country. It was truly exciting to embrace new experiences, learn the Swedish language, and become familiar with their unique traditions. This fellowship has been invaluable in enhancing my skills, knowledge, and self-confidence.
